Laser Therapy

Laser therapy is a non-invasive, pain-free, and drug-free treatment that uses light to treat a variety of conditions in dogs:

    • Pain: Laser therapy can help with pain from arthritis, muscle spasms, and other conditions
    • Wound healing: Laser therapy can help incisions heal faster and increase the tensile strength of wounds
    • Inflammation: Laser therapy can help reduce inflammation
    • Swelling: Laser therapy can help with swelling from back disc problems
    • Soft tissue injuries: Laser therapy can help with tendon or soft tissue injuries
    • Nerve tissue regeneration: Laser therapy can help with nerve tissue regeneration after surgery
Laser therapy uses a single wavelength of light, ranging from visible red to infrared, to stimulate cell regeneration and increase blood circulation. This process is called photobiomodulation.
Laser therapy sessions are usually 15 to 30 minutes long, and most dogs are not sedated. The duration of benefits depends on the condition being treated. For example, chronic pain treatments may last about a week, while more acute conditions may require more frequent treatments.
